I was in Amsterdam over the last weekend and whilst in Etos (think Dutch boots) I spotted this product and was quickly drawn to it. I was hoping to see some bioderma whilst I was there but I had no such luck. I did encounter the Diadermine High Tolerance Micellair Tonic though.
If you are anything like me you are immediately thinking, bioderma? I put a comparrision picture of the two so you can see the packaging similarities. My bioderma is basically finished so maybe you can see why I was looking for something similar.
I'm not sure on the price of bioderma but the Diodermine cost me €5.29 for 200ml. I got two, one for me and one for my sister.
I've only used this once and I can say it seems to do a very similar thing as bioderma. Haven't used it on waterproof mascara or anything yet but I will be testing that out tonight. I never found bioderma to be all that great on eye makeup so I won't be too disappointed if the diadermine can't take off my waterproof mascara, but I will be overjoyed if it can.
I plan on using this before I cleanse with my Liz Earle. I know some people use these type of products as a cleanser and I will probably do that in the morning sometimes. Using a product like this to take of some eye makeup and my face makeup makes me feel my cleanser is working harder on my skin not just at removing makeup, although I do find cleanse and polish is great at removing makeup. I may also use this as a toner, or just a facial refresher if I am not wearing any face makeup that day.
A major difference I did notice between the two was the strong floral scent that the Diadermine has, I didn't find it too much of a problem when I used it but be weary if you are sensitive to scent. The high tolerance line is made for sensitive skin as is the bioderma.
The Diadermine says it has no parabens, silicones or perfumes (apparently the floral scent is from the high ammount of rose flower water). I'm not an expert in ingredients so I can't say if the bioderma has any of these things or not but I have seen people saying the ingredients aren't all that great? I'm not 100% on that and please don't quote me. They both claim to be Hypoallergenic and although the diadermine is specifically made for sensitive skin I cannot say if it will break you out or not, different products work differently on different skins.
I know the diadermine is available in The Netherlands and Germany and I'm sure in more countries across Europe. I've seen the bioderma line in France (of course) and Belgium.
If you have any more information on whrre either of these are accessible or if you've tried the Diadermine make sure you comment below.
Have a lovely day :)
UPDATE: I know it has been a long time but I thought I had to make you all aware on how the diadermine was. It is no bioderma, I'll tell you that. The scent is very floral, and almost a bit sickly so if you are sensitive to scent you will want to be careful. Moreover, the diadermine almost foams up. When you shake it it goes foamy and doesn't feel at all like water (bioderma feels like water). I never had much success with bioderma on the eye makeup and I think that the Diadermine works about the same. Bioderma might be slightly better at removing makeup but there is not a lot in it. If you put too much diadermine on a cotton pad it goes foamy and weird and not very nice on the face whereas bioderma never does that. The lack of scent in bioderma is a huge bonus to me. Although I know anything can break you out, if you check below Elke commented that this broke her out and I have heard of that too. So be careful with it, that is disappointing too as it is made for sensitive skin.
I bought the Diadermine tonic yesterday (I'm from Belgium btw) and I had a really bad reaction to it... I used it as the bottle says I have to use it, so with a cotton ball. It didn't sting in my eyes but the skin under my eyes turned very, very red! I am going to try it again tonight, see if I'm going to have the same reaction...
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting us know! Such a shame when products do that, and like I said if it is made for sensitive skin even worse. I have heard some people having bad reactions to it. Hopefully your skin is all better now but I think in Belgium they have bioderma at pharmacies so I personally would just stkck to that!
